Hello all,
I have created this blog to talk about what kind of books we are reading this summer.  We will include the good, the bad and the ugly of all levels.  They can be of all levels, children and adult.  I love having discussions about what is being read.

I just finished my first summer book "Everlost" by Neil Schusterman. It is the first book in a series (which I love to get my kids hooked into)  It is about a place where kids go that is between the living and the dead and how kids react when they are there.  The main heroine wants to go back home and have contact with the living but struggles to do that.  I think this would be a great read aloud to aid to discussion in what the value of life is.

  1. Hi Pam,
What a great idea to write about reading, especially during summertime. I also like how you have a beach background.
My favorite place to read is outside on the deck, or in my favorite chair, along with my mug of coffee.
I think I would like to find Neil Schusterman's "Everlost" to read this summer. It sound like a good read. I like all kinds of books, however, I have never been hooked on Stephen King's books. Maybe because I have an overactive imagination, or perhaps his stories are just too scary for me.
This summer I am reading one of my favorites from high school,(centuries ago), the famous "Moby-Dick" by Herman Melville. I will probably get lots more from reading it now than I did years ago.

  2. This is a great idea. I have not gotten a chance to read this summer as much as I would like, but I do plan to download a few books on my Kindle that I haven't even registered yet. Many people are reading the Fifty Shades of Grey, have you heard of it?

  4. Great idea Pam. This is a great way for students to get excited about reading, even in the summer. I think that we need to create more blogs such as this one to keep our students actively learning.

I am not reading much in the way of Novels this summer, which is a bummer, but I am reading some interesting books about coaching Football. It is pretty dry reading but it is new information that we will be using this year with our football team. Once the season is over I will hopefully have time to do some reading again.

    Have a good day.
