So several us at our school follow Dona Lynn Miller's and her book challenge on The Book Whisperer. She does a book a day challenge which includes magazines, pictures books and all other novels. She gets an amazing amount of reading done. I have challenged myself to a book a week and may make it. I haven't done any picture books yet but if I get desperate I'll pull those out especially the week or two before my sons wedding.
Pam, Never in a million years would I be able to read a book a day. However, I do like your idea of reading a book a week, and think it would be interesting to try this. What is the best way to do this? I have thought maybe to set aside an hour in the morning and an hour after supper? I like routines, so that is why I mentioned those times. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBook a day would definently not be achievable for me, but a book a week is something that I think I can do. I always say i want to read more but never take the time to do it. If I challenged myself with something like this I think I could make it happen. Thanks for sharing a great idea.
ReplyDeleteIf we pull out our picture books we could make it :) I am definitely reading a book a week. Now I need to dig out the school reading I was going to get finished this summer oops!
ReplyDeleteI agree, a book a week is quite doable with the right motivation!
ReplyDeleteHow did Dona Lynn Miller manage to do a book a day? That is something I might could acheive in retirement!
ReplyDeleteThat is incredible. I am happy if I read a book a year. A book easily takes me a month to read when I read only about 5 pages in 30 minutes. I just don't have the time.
